Trending Pet Technology

Technology is what we depend on to make our lives run smoothly. Let’s be honest; we all may be totally lost without it. How many of you have discovered helpful tech options to help you manage your pet owner life? Even our TLDOM team uses technology to streamline our scheduling process with customers and to keep pet owners in the know while their animals are in our care. These are a few trends that we’ve found helpful.

  1. Social media accounts for pets. Did you know that some animals have their own social media accounts? Yes! From dogs to guinea pigs, these accounts can be entertaining and full of helpful information on caring for your pet.

  2. Telehealth – We humans use telehealth often to save time and avoid going into the doctor’s office to collect more germs potentially. Virtual vet appointments are also available and convenient for you. So, the next time your schedule won't allow for an in-person visit or our pet taxi service is booked for the day and time you need, call your Vet and ask about virtual options.

  3. Entertainment and Enrichment activity – Brands like Pet Geek offer a variety of electronic devices like bones, training treat dispensers, and more. These interactive devices help keep your pet engaged and active.

  4. Pet Recovery Solutions - Microchips and GPS trackers have significantly evolved. Apps like Finding Rover now use facial recognition to increase the possibility of owners being reunited with their missing pets.

  5. Health Tracking – Think Fitbit but for your dog. Apps like FitBark can track sleeping patterns, mobility, and anxiety. It also has a Find My Pet feature.

Being a pet parent can keep you constantly on the go. Implementing help wherever that comes from is key. What are some of your technology go-to’s for simplifying pet parenthood?
